After bailing on surf camp––trust me it was for the best––some of the girls and I decided to plan a last minute weekend getaway. Since hitting the beach with your besties is always bound to be a good time, we headed to Byron Bay for a girls trip.
What started out as a day of rain and long bus rides turned into a weekend of mojitos, sing alongs and shopping––sorry mom! Despite the bad weather, the town was worth exploring if not for the cute boutiques than definitely for the food (thank you Miss Margarita’s for teaching me what a proper fajita should taste like) .
Against all odds (and weather predictions) the sun was shining bright on our last day in Byron. So, after a delicious breakfast of coconut yogurt and avocado toast at our weekend-favorite spot, Balcony Bar & Oyster Co, we grabbed some sunscreen and practically sprinted to the beach.
One thing I loved about Byron was the beach-town feel and hipster community. On my last day, I channeled my inner wild-child, and went for a more earthy look––topped off with cool sunnies of course!
If you’re in Australia for a while, Byron Bay is definitely worth a visit. If the beautiful beaches, great shopping, and delicious food don’t appeal to you, then look up the bar Cheeky Monkey and you just might change your mind!
With Love,
Jules
